The Sport Chrono clock on top of the dashboard is one of the most recognizable details of a modern 911. Plenty of 992 Carreras leave the factory without it, and for many owners the dash just looks unfinished. One of our customers wanted to change that, so we installed an aftermarket Sport Chrono clock in his 992 Carrera.
What the job involves
The install means carefully opening up the dashboard, fitting the clock housing and routing the wiring so everything looks and works like it came from the factory. On paper it sounds simple. In practice, the 992 dashboard is full of hidden clips, soft-touch surfaces and leather that marks easily, and a rushed install shows for years: uneven gaps, rattles, scuffed trim.
How we did it
We protected the interior before starting, used proper trim tools and kept track of every clip and fastener. The clock sits flush, the gaps match the rest of the dash, and nothing was left marked or loose.
We treat every car the way we would treat our own. For us, a small job like this deserves the same care as a full build.
